The dashboard designer allows users to create and customize dashboards, building them with parts of pre-existing reports. It is user friendly and easy to use with a clean dropdown driven interface.
How It Works
VERTX Dashboards leverages VERTX Reports for fast and easy creating of dynamic reporting content. Once reports are created, individual report parts can be placed inside the layout of the dashboard designer. The dashboard extenstions enable additional features in the VERTX Reports Designer for enhanced functionality.

How To Install VERTX Dashboard
To add dashboards support to an existing VERTX Reports installation, add DashboardDesigner.aspx [link] to your application and get a dashboard key from VERTX support. VERTX dashboards requires upgrading to version 6.0 or above of the VERTX dll.
How To Create A Simple Dashboard
Step 1. Create and save your dashboard parts.
Step 2. Select where you want a specific report part to go select the name of the report.
Step 3. Select which part of the report (ie chart, summary, fields) you want to display there.

Step 4. Add more parts.
Step 5. Preview and save. Your done.
How To Customize How Dashboards Look.
Dashboards may be customized via the DashboardsCss setting. Alternatively, the ReportPart controls may be used in a custom aspx page.
Charts shown in the dashboard also can be set to popup additional information when the user hovers over them as shown below.
VERTX Dashboard Reporting Modules are highly customizable. The VERTX Report Part class may be used to create custom dashboard layouts and embed other content.
