VERTX SYSTEMS was born out of our consulting practice which started in 2001.  Through the years we were able to master the outsourcing model and deliver high quality results, performance and cost benefits to all of our customers.

Anowar Shahjahan, President & CEO
 
   
 


Mr. Shahjahan has over two decades of experience in consulting and technology with a proven track record of successfully bringing products and services to market in startups and large organizations.  Mr. Shahjahan founded VERTX SYSTEMS, LLC., in 2001 as a consulting practice, which then evolved to include offshore development and service center and suite of online/offline products.

Mr. Shahjahan was the Vice President of Product Development and Engineering for Quixi, Inc. (a spin-off Infonxx – the 411 company), reporting directly to the CEO and the Board of Directors.
Quixi, Inc. received $28.5 million in funding from RRE Ventures, Accel Partners, Flatiron Partners and JP Morgan Partners. The innovative sales activity monitoring system developed under his supervision was identified by Siebel Systems, Inc. as a significant market opportunity, which Siebel launched with Quixi acquired resources in 2003.

Prior to Quixi, Inc., he was the Director of Technology and Architectural Services for MasterCard International. He was responsible for infrastructure and systems improvement that generated $330 million annual revenues, representing 65% of MasterCard's total operating revenues. His solutions were deployed to 22,000 banks resulting in numerous operational efficiencies.  Before MasterCard International, Mr. Shahjahan worked for PepsiCo, Inc., where he reported to the Global Strategic Planning Department Heads now PepsiCo – CEO building and deploying Global Tax and Planning Systems.

Mr. Shahjahan started his career working for State of Connecticut Department of Social Services directly for the Commission on IT and then as consultant for Aetna and Connecticut Aluminum Company.

Mr. Shahjahan holds a M.S. in Management from Albertus Magnus College and a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Eastern Connecticut State University. 

In 2005, Mr. Shahjahan held an alternate Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Norwalk, CT and 2006 was the Commissioner for Norwalk Parking Authority.  He was awarded a City Seal for his volunteer services to the city by Mayor Knop.  www.linkedin.com/in/anowar
